Richard Williams - CMALT certified · PL-200 Certified · Learning Technologist at UCL STEaPP
Learning Design & Technology
Designing digital, blended and in-person learning experiences - from postgraduate Moodle environments to commercial training programmes. Focused on learner journeys, accessibility and evidence-based practice. Across multiple Moodle deployments I operate at every level of an LMS: product management and ownership (roadmap, stakeholder requirements, theme and plugin decisions, governance), development (PHP, SCSS, JavaScript, themes and plugins), administration, and content creation and learning design. At the University of Suffolk I built module resources using Articulate (Storyline, Rise and 360) and Adobe Captivate on the Brightspace platform, and produced interactive video learning content with iSpring at UCL STEaPP; I also evaluated Canvas LMS as a candidate platform during a migration investigation at IKON Training, worked with both Echo360 and Panopto at UCL including content migration between the two, used Turnitin in assessment workflows at both UCL and the University of Suffolk, and supported Mahara eportfolios.

Project Management
Across my projects, I have been the project lead - responsible for planning, prioritisation, stakeholder alignment, delivery, documentation and handover. I use the tool appropriate to context: MS Planner at UCL, Jira for Scottish Tech Army engagements, MS Project and Monday.com at IKON Training, and Miro for collaborative research work. In practice, this means translating requirements into task lists with owners and timelines, managing dependencies, running stakeholder check-ins, and producing handover materials so work is transferable. The IKON TMS went from requirements to live in six months; the UCL Engagement Tracker from concept to production in a single term.

Development Tools
Languages, frameworks and tools used across Moodle theme and plugin development, web projects and data scripting. The BSc in Computer Science included database application development in C#. Raspberry Pi work spans robotics club teaching at Woodbridge School and CPD training delivery.
Digital Media Production
VR and 360° scenario-based learning, video production, audio production and visual content creation for education, training and immersive learning contexts.
